This is an old 1990′s TV segment from CBS This Morning with Greg Gumbel introducing the Team Chiropractor for the legendary San Fransisco 49ers of the 80′s and 90′s. For years, Dr. Nick Athens has been taking care of the San Fransisco 49ers and that during Super Bowl XXIV, Dr. Nick Athens took care of 35 49ers players, in which the 49ers won 55-10, taking the title 4 times in a decade, and solidifying them as one of the best teams in NFL history.
It also shows Dr. Athens adjusting Pro Football Hall of Fame members Joe Montana and Jerry Rice (who just did his own segment on advocating Chiropractic this year) and Roger Craig, who had the best line in the whole piece saying, “We won 4 Super Bowls in the 80′s, so he must be doing something right.” Love it.
Another notable snippet: asked if he was okay with his neck being adjusted, Joe Montana replies, “It’s the best part.”
Dr. Nick Athens also delivers a very quick and effective description of what Chiropractic and why it is effective, followed by the dialogue of Greg Gumbel as to why back in the 80′s and 90′s that Chiropractic was not widely accepted.
Well, times have certainly changed, haven’t they…and I’m sure it’s because of excellent testimonials like this one from legends of the NFL.
